Sustainable Development Goals and the Importance of Safe Drinking Water

On this World Water Day, it is crucial to emphasize the significance of safe drinking water for all individuals. Currently, more than 4 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water, which is responsible for 90% of water-borne diseases. Unfortunately, universal access to drinking water is not projected to be achieved until 2094. To expedite progress, it is essential to develop innovative, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable solutions.
A Sustainable Commitment for Safe Water Access
Our partnership with 1001fontaines, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to drinking water worldwide, reflects this dynamic. For over 20 years, 1001fontaines has been addressing the needs of underserved communities through resilient water purification infrastructure and affordable services. They utilize 20-liter reusable bottles to ensure convenience and sustainability.
1001fontaines focuses on building local capacity and ensuring financial viability for their local partners. Their approach encourages sustainable behavior change, as evidenced by the adoption of their solutions by over a million people in Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Madagascar.
A Partnership Built on Shared Values
Since 2007, Diehl Metering has been supporting 1001fontaines in their mission. Initially, we contributed with Corona M meters, and this year, we will provide next-generation meters like the ALTAIR. These meters are designed for demanding environments and compatible with various water qualities.
“Back in 2007, joining this project meant believing in a shared mission: bringing safe water to those who need it most. Over the years, I’ve realized how many children, families, and entire communities still struggle every day for this necessity. Being part of this humanitarian journey has been an honor, knowing that together, we are making a real difference for humanity.” – Pascal PERRIERE (Special Project Manager)
Minimizing water losses is crucial, and we are proud to contribute our expertise. Through leak detection and advanced technologies, we enhance water management and optimize distribution to ensure that every drop counts. Our commitment to sustainability is strengthened through smart resource management.
Join the Mission to Provide Safe Water to Schools
The Water in School program is a powerful initiative that guarantees children have access to clean drinking water every day at school. For just 2€, 1001fontaines provides a year of safe drinking water. At Diehl Metering, we are committed to helping the next generation. By partnering with 1001fontaines, we ensure that children have the essentials for a healthy life and empower them to build a sustainable future.
Together, let’s contribute to a future where safe water is a fundamental right for all, not a privilege.
