Search Warrant Executed at Suspects’ Residence
On Thursday, the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, executed a search warrant at the residence on Blevins Hollow Road in Elizabethton. Upon arrival, investigators encountered the two suspects and a child who resides at the location. It was later discovered that the child has autism and is non-verbal.
Unsanitary Living Conditions Found
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation took Sean David Moody into custody on a warrant related to the abuse of a vulnerable adult. Subsequently, agents and investigators conducted a search of the residence and uncovered unsanitary living conditions.

“During the search of the residence, it was found that the living conditions were unsanitary,” stated Carter County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Preston White. “Multiple electrical wall outlets contained exposed wiring, and animal and human feces were discovered on the floor coverings.”

Further investigation led to the discovery of a brown storage trunk in the living room area. The trunk contained urine-soaked blankets, a pillow, half-eaten pizza, and clothing with a substance consistent with blood.

Investigators learned that the child had been locked in the storage trunk along with food. The Department of Children’s Services was immediately contacted to address the situation.
Arrest and Release on Bond
Mikki Dee Moody and Sean David Moody were both booked into the Carter County Detention Center. Mikki Dee Moody was later released after posting a $75,000 bond.
