Investigation Leads to Arrest of Greenfield Man on Federal Charges

Investigators with the Fishers Police Department, working with the Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force, were part of a team that investigated a Greenfield man for the past year, leading to his arrest on March 19. The man, Bobby Linhart, 22, was arrested on federal charges related to coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, sexual exploitation of a minor, distribution of child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Background

In May 2023, investigators received a tip alleging that Bobby Linhart had been uploading files containing child sexual abuse materials onto social media accounts under the username “maps.syb.” This prompted a year-long investigation into Linhart’s activities.

Details of the Investigation

Linhart was allegedly engaging in sexually explicit conversations with girls between the ages of 12 and 15. He coerced these children into producing and sending sexually explicit images and videos of themselves. Linhart also arranged to meet minors in person for sexual activity. Investigators discovered that Linhart traveled to multiple cities, including one out of state, to engage in or attempt to engage in sexual activity with underage children. Additionally, Linhart sent explicit images to at least one child.

Arrest and Search Warrant Execution

On March 19, investigators executed a search warrant at Linhart’s home in Greenfield. During the search, illegal drugs, a handgun, and electronic devices containing sexually explicit material involving minors were found.

Call for Information

Investigators believe that Linhart may have had contact with other children. Individuals who have interacted with “maps.syb” or Bobby Linhart are urged to contact the Fishers Police Department at 317-595-3300 or visit p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=945#.
