Sustainable Development Goals and Landscape Scale Restoration Projects

Introduction

Landscape Scale Restoration projects are initiatives that span multiple jurisdictions and aim to address large-scale environmental issues such as reducing the risk of wildfires, protecting and restoring watersheds, and slowing the spread of invasive species. In fiscal year 2023, the Forest Service is investing in 64 projects nationwide to restore forests across tribal, state, and private land. These funded projects mark the first time the agency has made Landscape Scale Restoration Program grants directly available to federally recognized Tribes and Alaska Native Corporations to restore tribal trust land.
