AIIB Launches InfraTech Portal to Bring Value of Technology to Infrastructure - News - AIIB Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Launches InfraTech Portal
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has recently introduced the InfraTech Portal, a digital platform aimed at providing comprehensive, neutral, and free information on infrastructure technologies (InfraTech). The portal also serves as a means to facilitate connections within the InfraTech community.
This initiative aligns with AIIB’s mission of Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow, as it seeks to promote the adoption and development of infrastructure technologies. By doing so, AIIB aims to deliver value to its clients and contribute to the broader community.
Emphasizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
AIIB President and Chair of the Board of Directors Jin Liqun highlighted the significance of the InfraTech Portal in improving infrastructure through technology. He emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in shaping the Infrastructure for Tomorrow and driving positive change.
Recognizing the urgent need for rapid infrastructure improvement to drive economic growth, enhance quality of life, and ensure environmental sustainability, AIIB acknowledges that technology can play a crucial role in achieving these goals. However, the adoption and development of InfraTech have not reached their full potential due to various challenges.
The InfraTech Portal aims to address these challenges by:
- Sharing Information: The portal serves as a platform for disseminating information on InfraTech solutions, their benefits, and providers. It covers various infrastructure sectors and highlights climate as a cross-cutting theme.
- Facilitating Connection: The portal enables connections between InfraTech providers, investors, and users, fostering collaboration within the InfraTech community.
- Featuring User-Provided Content: The portal allows the InfraTech community to showcase their solutions and reach potential customers. It operates as a neutral platform, promoting fairness, transparency, and inclusivity.
Sir Danny Alexander, AIIB Vice President for Policy and Strategy, emphasized that the InfraTech Portal fills the information gap in the InfraTech sector. It aligns with AIIB’s Corporate Strategy’s thematic priority on technology-enabled infrastructure. By leveraging AIIB’s position as a recognized infrastructure player with a strategic focus on technology, as well as its reputation as a reliable financier and a neutral multilateral development bank, AIIB aims to bring different tools and technologies to its clients.
