Family Mourns Loss of Wisconsin Mother in Domestic Violence Incident

A tragic incident of domestic violence has resulted in the death of a Wisconsin mother of 10, according to the police.

The homicide investigation began on Wednesday morning in Milwaukee when the body of 41-year-old Tomitka Jurnett-Stewart was discovered in the trunk of her vehicle.

The vehicle was found at approximately 10:30 a.m. that morning, as reported by the Milwaukee Police Department. A 41-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the case.

While the authorities have not released the name of the man, family members have confirmed that he was in a long-term relationship with the victim.

The police stated, “This incident is Domestic Violence related. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.”

Father’s Desperate Search for Missing Daughter

Tommy Jurnett, the father of Jurnett-Stewart, revealed that he first learned about his daughter’s disappearance on April 14 when his grandson called to inform him that she hadn’t come home.

Jurnett advised his 22-year-old grandson to wait until the following day, but when Jurnett-Stewart still hadn’t returned, he instructed his grandson to contact the police.

As a former police officer, Jurnett had a sinking feeling about the situation. Jurnett-Stewart’s sister took to social media to seek help in finding her, informing the public to be on the lookout for her red vehicle.

By Tuesday, the police were actively involved in the case, and Jurnett-Stewart’s boss at Jersey Mike’s became concerned when she didn’t show up for work.

Remembering a Beloved Daughter and Mother of 10

Jurnett-Stewart’s father shared that she was born on a San Antonio U.S. Air Force Base and was a vibrant individual who was a cheerleader in high school. Her mother passed away in 2007.

She leaves behind 10 children, including twins, as well as a son named Daniel who passed away at 11 months old.

Jurnett last saw his daughter on Thanksgiving when his family surprised him with a birthday party. The family plans to hold a ceremony in Tennessee, where Jurnett-Stewart grew up with many cousins.

Her younger sister, Elizabeth Houston, described her as independent, determined, and a wonderful mother.
