DENVER (KDVR) – On Wednesday, the Arvada Police Department arrested a Jefferson County Schools employee on charges of child sexual assault and child abuse.
Background
Joseph Martinez, 31, was employed as a before and after-school provider and sometimes substitute teacher at several Jeffco Public Schools. He had been working in Jefferson County Schools since 2011, including Lawrence Elementary, Stevens Elementary School, Vivian Elementary School, Swanson Elementary, Secrest Elementary, West Woods Elementary, and most recently, Red Rocks Elementary.

Martinez was arrested for the following charges:
