FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.

A Fort Lauderdale rape victim told detectives that the attacker was driving a gray Hyundai Sonata and was armed with a gun, police said.

A sketch artist produced an image of the clean-shaven man with short black hair who hurt the woman, police said. Surveillance video shows the Hyundai Sonata he was driving, police said.

Details of the Incident

The woman said she was walking at about 2:30 a.m., on Feb. 27, near Federal Highway and Southeast 16 Street when the gunman in the Hyundai followed her, according to police.

The gunman stopped, rushed out of the Hyundai, demanded that she hand over money, and when she declined, he kidnapped her and sexually battered her, according to police.

Description of the Suspect

The woman said the Hispanic gunman had a medium build, was about 5-foot 10-inches tall, and was wearing a white T-shirt, police said.
