Solar Energy Firms Interested in South Coatesville Borough
At the September 26 council meeting, South Coatesville Borough Council member Bob Floyd announced that there are two solar energy firms “potentially” interested in bringing an alternative energy source to the Chester County municipality.

- The Moorestown, New Jersey-based company, Pro-Tech Energy Solutions LLC, proposed a 5-to-7-megawatt solar farm power system, which could generate $35,000-$50,000 in revenue for the first year.
- In April 2022, Stamford, Connecticut-based company ReneSola sought to use 53 acres within the northern portion of the borough-owned property for solar panels at $1,500 per acre. The lease would last for 25 years with three five-year extensions.
The borough has expressed an interest in taking over the solar farm at the end of any lease period.
Budget Meeting Dates
Borough Manager Allen Smith announced that the budget meeting dates have been posted on the borough’s website. The meetings are open to the public and will be held at 4 p.m. on Mondays at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus.
