Saudi Farmers to Receive Enhanced Developmental and Financing Support

Introduction

Riyadh: In an effort to improve the living standards of Saudi farmers, two leading organizations in the Kingdom have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance developmental and financing support for the agricultural sector. The Agricultural Development Fund of Saudi Arabia and the Reef National Foundation have joined forces to increase the efficiency and productivity of farmers, rural families, and craftsmen through training programs.

Objectives

The primary objective of this collaboration is to enhance the technical and productive capabilities of farmers while supporting agricultural activity in the Kingdom. The partnership aims to implement targeted initiatives and projects that promote the development and sustainability of the sector.

Funding Support for Farmers

In June, the Agricultural Development Fund provided SR1.5 billion ($400 million) worth of funding to farmers in Saudi Arabia. These measures align with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture’s policies and the Kingdom’s food security strategy.
