Forty DeForest Area High School Choir Students and Chaperones Travel to New York City

Forty members of DeForest Area High School Choir Students and thirteen chaperones had the opportunity to travel to New York City over spring break to sightsee, attend Broadway shows, and perform.

This was the first choir trip in over six years, and the students were busy at work preparing pieces to perform at St. John the Divine Cathedral — the largest Cathedral in the world. The theme “A New Day, A New Hope” encompassed all the music they performed while in New York City. Pieces included: “Soon Ah Will Be Done” by William Dawson, “Let the Sun Shine In from Hair, Light of the Clear Blue Morning” by Craig Hella Johnson, and “The Road Home” by Stephen Paulus.
