Tennessee Association for Adult and Community Education Honors Kimberly Prouty

The Tennessee Association for Adult and Community Education is dedicated to promoting and supporting adult education throughout the state of Tennessee. They achieve this by providing advocacy, leadership, and professional development in adult education. Each year, they recognize outstanding leaders in the field of education.

Award Ceremony

During this year’s award ceremony held on July 20th at the Marriott Convention Center in Chattanooga, Kimberly Prouty from Hohenwald was honored with the “Tennessee Adult Basic Education Learner of the Year Award.” The Association acknowledged Kimberly as a student who has demonstrated leadership within the adult education learning environment. This award is given to a student who has overcome difficult circumstances to pursue their education while also supporting other adult learners and managing their other responsibilities, such as employment, family, or community involvement.

It hasn’t been an easy journey for me, as I have faced many challenges along the way. However, I have been truly blessed and have accomplished many of my goals, such as getting my driver’s license, volunteering at my local library, joining my community farmer’s market to sell my handmade jewelry and artwork, and making many supportive friends.”
