HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Central City couple following an investigation which led deputies to place an infant out of the home.

The sheriff’s office said deputies were investigating an alleged child abuse at a residence in Central City. While checking on the welfare of a 7-month old infant child, deputies identified many concerns and the child was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

According to the sheriff’s office, the child was placed into the custody of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Deputies arrested 28-year-old Tyler C. Bryant and a 24-year-old Brittney L. Bryant, both from Central City, and booked the two into the Merrick County Jail. Both were charged with child abuse.
