AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Nearly one month after its 2024 “Stewarding Our Water Future” conference in March, Ogallala Commons is set to host its “Stewarding Our Aquifer Field Day” at the Wildcat Bluff Discovery Center on April 16.

Learning Sessions

Ogallala Commons encourages all interested community members to attend the event. The day will include multiple learning sessions focused on:

  1. Area’s history
  2. Natural infrastructure in dryland streams
  3. Streambed restoration on West Amarillo Creek
  4. Field tour of Leaky Weirs

This event comes a few weeks after the “Stewarding Our Water Future” conference also held by Ogallala Commons. The conference featured multiple presentations and informational sessions focused on creekbed restoration in the Amarillo area and highlighted the ecological projects and programs conducted by the Wildcat Bluff Discovery Center to benefit the preserve.
