The Saguaros Announce $1.7 Million in Grants to Arizona Nonprofits

The Saguaros will provide funding of nearly $120,000 to six Arizona children’s charities that offer support to children and their families during cancer treatment.
Care Fund: Ensuring Housing Stability for Families
Care Fund, one of the recipient organizations, will receive a grant of $49,791. This funding aims to support Arizona families who face financial hardship and are at risk of losing their homes due to mounting bills while their child is experiencing an extended medical illness or injury. The Care Fund provides mortgage and rent support during a child’s medical health crisis, ensuring that parents can prioritize caring for their ill child.
Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels: Bringing Comfort and Care
Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels will receive a grant of $27,500 to support their Comfort and Care Program. This program aims to bring comfort and dignity to children experiencing cancer. The funding will be used to provide individual and group counseling, support groups, and play therapy for children and their families. The Saguaros have been supporting this program for the past three years.
Children’s Cancer Network: Supporting the Cancer Journey
Children’s Cancer Network will receive a grant of $22,500 to continue their work in supporting children and families throughout their cancer journey. The organization offers programs and services designed to provide financial assistance, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, and raise awareness of the issues faced by children with cancer.
Ryan House: Providing Respite Care and Palliative Care
Ryan House will receive a grant of $10,000 to support their Sponsor-A-Stay program. This program offers respite care, allowing parents to reconnect with each other and giving siblings rare time alone with their parents. It also provides children with life-limiting or terminal illnesses a comfortable away-from-home experience, opportunities to make friends, and participation in activities otherwise unavailable to them. Additionally, the program’s in-patient palliative care aims to address the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and emotional needs of both the child and family, enhancing their quality of life and minimizing suffering.
Crowns of Courage: Alleviating the Fear of Hair Loss
Crowns of Courage will receive a grant of $7,500 to provide wigs to children undergoing chemotherapy. The goal is to alleviate the fear of chemotherapy-related hair loss and reduce the trauma experienced by children. The wigs can be made using a child’s own hair or hair donated by caring individuals.
Kameron’s Krusaders: Spreading Holiday Cheer
Kameron’s Krusaders will receive a grant of $2,500 to support their second annual Holiday Family Extravaganza. This adopt-a-family program aims to serve families during the holiday season by providing grocery and gas gift cards, Christmas gifts for everyone in the immediate family, and large family-oriented gifts to enhance their holiday season. For some families, Kameron’s Krusaders’ delivery represents the only holiday gifts they receive.

The Saguaros will be hosting their annual signature fundraiser, the Niteflite Golf & Gala, on November 10 and 11. This event aims to raise additional funds to support nonprofits that help Arizona children.
