Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and PCs for People Partner to Expand Internet Access
Introduction
In an effort to promote internet access for all residents of Northeast Ohio, Cuyahoga County, the State of Ohio, and PCs for People have launched a new initiative. This second phase of the project specifically targets the region’s least connected communities.
The Importance of Internet Access
Congresswoman Shontel M. Brown emphasized the critical need for internet access, stating that it connects education, the economy, entrepreneurs, and even enables seniors to make teledoc appointments. Internet access is now considered a utility rather than a luxury.
Connecting the Outhwaite Homes Community
The Outhwaite homes community, one of the oldest housing communities in Cuyahoga County, was the first to benefit from this initiative. Residents were able to sign up for PCs for People’s low-cost internet service during an event held on Monday to kick off the program.
