High Point man faces multiple counts of sexual exploitation with a child

High Point police have arrested and charged a man with several counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
On Friday, May 10, detectives searched a home on Pomeroy Place around 6 a.m. There, they found digital evidence of the crime and a firearm.
The arrested individual is Ricky K. Vernon, 63, who now faces three counts of felony third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction. High Point authorities believe there will be additional charges. Vernon is currently in the Guilford County Jail on a $1 million bond.
The police investigation is ongoing.
