READ Adult Literacy Program Seeking New Tutors
The READ Adult Literacy Program at Alpena County Library is seeking new tutors. The program aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting quality education (SDG 4) and reducing inequalities (SDG 10) through literacy support.
Free Training in September
Free training sessions will be held in September at the upstairs Stillion Conference Room at the library. The training schedule is as follows:
- Sept. 7 — Introduction to the READ Program
- Sept. 12 — Basic Literacy 1
- Sept. 13 — Basic Literacy 2
- Sept. 27 — English as a Second Language
- Sept. 28 — GED
Participants are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions free of charge. Light refreshments and materials will be provided.
