The Sustainable Development Report - 10th edition shows that now we are experiencing a notable stall in the global progress on the SDGs, only 17% of SDGs are on track in achieving them by 2030. Countries from Europe, specifically Nordic countries, remain at the top of the table in the SDG Index. Finland (1st place), Sweden (2nd), and Denmark (3rd) relate to the top of the table; however, they, too, have identified significant issues with unsustainable consumption patterns. The five targets that show significant reversal in overall progress from 2015 include: rate of obesity, press freedom, sustainable nitrogen use and management, red list index, and corruption perception index. However, many countries have made notable progress in expanding access to basic services - this includes mobile broadband use, access to electricity, internet use, and rates of under-5 and neonatal mortality rates are on a decline. Finally, the report highlights the need for reforms to the Global Financial Architecture in advance of 4th International Conference on Financing for Development.
